Last month, I reached the age of sixty (shock horror ... nothing changed ;-).

The surf was still up and the Mojo still running …

So, I embarked upon an intuitive three part adventure that saw me travel from the Blues & Roots Festival in Australia to the UK and on to Ireland ('as you do if you can' ;-).

In the process, meeting and sharing with exciting, alive, smart, switched on people; all seeking their dreams. Inspired humans, each following their individual notions of bliss and imagination towards positive outcomes. IT was empowering, humbling and an honor to be met and BE seen by them.

I was also able to experience new digital technologies that change the way we conceive of our world and our place in IT. Our, so called, “day job” as Alchemica is progressing into exciting new platforms of dynamic information display and advanced entertainment ... “with feeling”…

What if it is true, as IT seems to be, that the balance point, we know of as our own consciousness, reflects an ongoing mirroring of our perception, projection, dream and desire.

What if we accept the observed facts of a macro-universe “beyond” and a micro-cosmos “within” as only two of many vectors weaving our individual and shared continuum's of experience.

What if we

"live and breathe and take our being"

each moment,

within and without

an energetic continuum of extreme balance and beauty.

Ordinary human consciousness is so overwhelmed by its perceptions of an outer world of physical manifestations, people, places and things that we filter IT and typically loose awareness, skill and even respect of our own inner worlds.

In human culture this usually results in the projection of an absolute god / goddess or ‘holi-whatever’ - “out there” - "somewhere", - "beyond this world", mediated and represented by an elite group that traditionally focuses authority in one “special” human at its apex.

However,

the above premises being true,

The sacred Demiurge must take ITS BEING and live equally within us. Experienced as the subjective visionary experiences we call mystic, transpersonal, psychedelic and divine.

Indeed,

mystics of all stripes and seasons have clearly pointed within

as the obvious gateway to esoteric being and becoming.

Equally it is said that while the things of this world do not last and shall all return to dust, a transpersonal world, of mystic experience, as a divine expression, is eternal.

IT IS

A place we come from to which we return.

Reality is a hallucinated reality we deal within as time and space,

"Business as usual is no longer an option. There is no middle way. There is no Ozzie and Harriet third millenium scenario. The choices are either a hideous, nightmarish world, a Soylent Green kind of world. The Vedas, sacred writings over 5,000 yrs old of the aboriginal Hindi, divide perceived world time into four epochs, called Yugas, which are of great duration and specific character. Ages whose form correspond to that of human life and development: the gold of innocence, the silver promise of youth, the iron age of adulthood and the lead of old age and dissolution. The fourth age, named for the black goddess Kali, is the one we occupy today; perhaps it has always been so, or just seems so to those who live to think thus. Regardless, one important characteristic of the Kali Yuga is that everything and everyone becomes reversed. The bad succeed while the good get trampled and trashed. Vice becomes ideal and virtue is scorned. Hubris rules and tolerance is suspect. Leaders win the popular vote and loose the elections. Trash is worth gold while elements like water become market based commodities.

For the most part old time religions are pyramid schemes with creative energy coming down from the top, through various levels of chums and associates, to greater and greater masses of humans spreading out at the bottom in all directions. They, the God(s) & Co., are out there, in paradise, heaven or whatever Valhalla can be told and sold to the Plebes. Father knows best just as god does; or so it is said. The ‘big daddy god’ being a favorite archetype to cast everybody else into a supportive role and requiring cohorts of priests and administrators to keep everyone fully employed.

Other models have been developed such as the Bodisatava, who works the mean streets of karma, as inspired by an abstract Buddhist cosmology of floating universal ideals. It has a Noir’ feel to its black and white take on cause and effect being a ONE that death does not part. Then there is the Occidental Magus version such as Merlin. A privileged, shaman type, magician who has esoteric skills and powers beyond the norm and manipulates the elemental and spiritual nature of things. This is a very popular imprint in the western imagination, despite its doomed story line of always being tied into and or contesting dark forces within the narrative. Think Dr Faustus or Darth Vader. Subtext: self-enlightment comes at a price too dear to pay.

In this regard Archetypes tend to split between the good, the bad and the too ugly to endure. This narrative effect has been boosted by the development of the all time prize winning projection devices found in film, television and newer forms of immersive multi media. Enhancing our hardwired psycho – social disposition to “project “ feeling and emotions onto “others” the media has trumped organic consciousness in all areas of human interaction from politics to entertainment with the same few stories being told endlessly.

Try this simple test:

Remember a favorite song, person, place or experience. Look it over, savoir it, go into it, explore it. IT doesn’t matter what IT IS. No one or other can take IT away from you. IT IS yours. IT IS a you in that moment, at that occasion, in a time out of mind, triggered by seeming random events leading to an experience of a real time in the no time of NOW. Whatever it is, was, or will be can only happen in some NOW that is also of our own creation.

That is just how IT IS

Experience is the great teacher. Our resonance and dissonance within the great attractor of experience is the reactor that shapes our Being into Becoming. The heat and light of experience revels our shadow of Becoming Being; a shadow invisible to the self yet seen by others. The dance of light and shadow in being US shapes and designs our positions and reactions to the dazzling experience of the NOW / wOw. Our personal point of view makes its beachhead on incomplete perceptions, operating out of a home grown reality, where ultimately everything we know is wrong.

No shame, no blame; this is how IT IS BEING BECOMING.

To witness this death dance of ego with experience
is to own and eat the shadow.

Recent information from astrophysics on the cosmology called “big bang” is a creation story just as fabulous as from any religion. Requiring just as much faith in an elite knowledge beyond our own personal verification as any other genesis mythology. It seems “big bang” became into being, from beyond imagination, as an ‘IT’ (about the size of a child’s marble or a large pearl) which “inflated” into this vast multi-verse we live within… This event is calculated to have occurred in a trillionth of a second (10X10 – 46th of a second) manifesting everything, including what we know of as “Time and Space” around fifteen billion (15,000,000,000) Earth /Solar years ago (give or take a billon or three) …

Introduction to WhatIf-ItIs

This blog is concerned with possibilities and potentials for advancing human consciousness.

It is informed by my personal artistic and shamanic experiences covering the last thirty years of my professional career and related to my life long, unsought after, encounters with the "non-ordinary", irrational and mythic forces of life and consciousness.

My Vision Quest name is: Black Bear.

I received this name in a seminal "transpersonal experience" while fasting three days in the Canyon Lands of Utah in 1984.

I cannot explain IT, neither can I forget IT.

I have spent decades in deconstructing, analyzing and for periods of time trying to reject IT.

However, in the end, IT IS a calling and spiritual vocation.

I can only humbly surrender into and learn to celebrate IT through sincere service to our human family and the "One Spirit that lives, breathes and takes ITS being" by expressing and teaching my experience of "the Good, the True and the Beautiful".

So this Blog concerns my understanding and practice of Neo-Shamanism, my concepts of IT as an obvious hiding place for the "Divine Expression" and further possibilities for advanced sharing and experience.

It emerges into the world with new and profound experiences signaling that the time is now for my 'Elder Craft' to be shared with the world at large. This move has been occasioned by a return, my first, to my families ancestral homeland in Ireland. Like my Vision Quest 24 years ago IT IS an experience that I cannot explain nor reject; but will surrender to in humility and respect for the mystery and purpose of the All That IS.

In recognition of this initiation in Ireland, as an 'elder' returning to assist "people with the right feeling" I offer my teaching here/ now to those that can see and hear ITS truth as: J. Murphy BlackBear.

I hope to share many ideas and resources here for those who seek to know and understand the ways and means of consciousness in expressing their own dreams and visions.

IT IS a momentous and humbling endeavor I personally undertake in the making of this Blog. I can only trust, as always, in "the good reality" with the love and support of my family and many friends in making my bold and unprecedented plunge into the digital world of connection, opinion and possibility.
